Fault: The dishwasher does not drain the waterIf there are only a few centimeters of water in the container under the filter, there is no fault. A few inches of water at the bottom of the filter is perfectly normal. Larger amounts of water – which are in the very bottom of the dishwasher – on the other hand, indicate that the dishwasher has problems emptying out the water. How to drain the water from the bottom of the dishwasherIf there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher, the water can be drained by removing the drain hose from where it is mounted – it will typically be under the sink. Lay the hose flat on the floor, so that the water runs out by itself. Some dishwashers have a backflow preventer, in which case the above solution will not work unless you simultaneously tip the dishwasher backwards. This means that you have to tip the dishwasher backwards, at the same time as you have the hose lying flat on the floor. When you tip the dishwasher backwards, you “cheat” the backflow preventer.
