If the washing machine turns off the relay during the wash, it may be due to one of the following:

• The fault will often be caused by a defective heating element. Some washing machines have cold wash programs. If your machine does, you can test to see if the heating element is the issue by running a cold wash program. • The fault may be due to a defective door lock. The door lock is an electrical locking device that is placed internally by the handle. If the relay is turned off immediately after the power is connected, this can be a sign of a defective door lock. Purchase a new door lock for you washing machine.
• The fault may be caused by a defective outlet pump or motor. Purchase a new outlet pump for your washing machine or purchase a new motor for your washing machine.
• A leaky gasket or hose can also cause the fault. The relay will typically turn off when the water runs down into an electrical component, as this will result in a short circuit.
